SPOT is an on-line rating system designated for small to medium sized contractors. By entering minimal information, you can receive a GL premium indication from up to 4 carriers.

NOTE: SPOT allows our agents to develop a premium indication for select risks; it does not qualify an account. All risks must be reviewed by Erickson-Larsen or Bjornson/Sentinel-E&L prior to binding.

Go to the ONLINE RATING tab at www.ericksonlarseninc.com, click on Register for SPOT, and complete the enrollment form. Your log-in credentials will be e-mailed to you within 24 hours.

Go to the ONLINE RATING tab, click on SPOT login, click on Forgot Password or Username? And complete the form.

a.     Click on Indications & Quotes along the left side of the screen.

b.     Select New Indication, chose the Program, select the class (es), add the risk zip code, select the Community (City) if needed, choose the Limits of Liability, and click on the Continue box.

c.     Answer the rating questions and click on the Display Indications box. A premium indication will be returned for 1 – 4 carriers. You may then select:

i.     Save Indication and Exit = The indication will remain in your agency queue (under Indications & Quotes on the left side of the screen) for 30 days awaiting your further instructions. This is an indication only and not a bindable quote.

ii.    Continue to Insured Information = Prompts you to enter the insured information to continue the Quoting process.

d.     Enter the Insured Information and select Save Insured and Review.

Complete the following information to submit and Finalize your quote:

i.     Confirm the Insured Information is completed. If not, click on Edit Insured (1) to add this information.

ii.    Complete the application – click on Fill Form (2) to open the application. NOTE: You must click on the “Submit” button on the last page of the application in order to attach the application to your quote.

You may also upload applications from your computer. To upload, click on the Upload and manage documents link. This will open a new window allowing you to browse and add documents from your local system or network.

Certain programs may have you Download the application. Please see the instructions on How to Download and Upload Non-Interactive Applications under the Links heading along the left side of the screen.

iii.   Select a Carrier (3).

iv.   Click on the link for View Terms & Conditions.(4) This will open a new window. Each carrier has specific Terms & Conditions. Please review carefully and if acceptable, click on the Accept button.

v.    Add the Proposed Effective Date (5). Note: coverage cannot be backdated.

vi.   Once the above items are completed, the Finalize Quote button will be clickable. Click on the Finalize Quote button (6) to submit to our office. An underwriter will be assigned to review the submission. Should additional information be needed, an underwriter will contact you by e-mail within 24 hours.

The next screen entitled Quote #XXXX Finalized will open. At this point you may update the Proposed Policy Effective Date (coverage cannot be backdated). You will also have the option to:

Request To Bind – If binding is desired, review the Request To Bind condition and check the accept box. Once the submission is reviewed and approved by an underwriter, a binder will be e-mailed to you.

NOTE: If the submission does not meet the underwriting criteria or if any other changes are needed, the underwriter will contact you by e-mail prior to binding.

Open Quote PDF – Opens the quote in a PDF format.

Request Financing Quote – Our office will e-mail a finance quote through Excel Premium Finance to you.

Done – If binding is not desired, simply click on the Done button (your Finalized Quote will be stored in the “Finalized Quotes” heading on the left side of your screen). An underwriter will be assigned to review and approve the submission. Notice of quote approval will be sent to you by e-mail.

Yes. Once you “Finalize” the quote, your submission will be entered into our system and assigned to an underwriter. There are instances when the underwriter may need to add/adjust the classifications selected, and this may change the premium. A quote will be e-mailed to you should we determine a premium adjustment is neeed.

We do not extend Binding authority to our agents. You may request coverage to be bound; however, all risks must be reviewed and approved by an underwriter prior to binding.

Please review the steps in question #6 above. if you are still unable to click on Finalize Quote, please contact our office at 800-442-3168. Please note that your submission is not complete until Finalize Quote is selected.

If you have not heard from us within 24 hours, please contact our office at 800-442-3168.

To revise the quote, please click on Edit Indication and revise exposures as needed

Additional classifications, risk types, and coverage’s are available through our markets. Please contact our office at 800-442-3168 and request to speak with an underwriter.

Once the quote is Finalized, you will have an option to Request To Bind. Review and accept the Request To Bind condition, and click on Request To Bind. Once the submission is reviewed and approved by an underwriter, a Binder will be sent to you by e-mail within 24 hours. NOTE: If the underwriter determines any changes are needed, a quote with the changes will be e-mailed to you for your approval prior to binding.

If you do not wish to request binding, simply click on Done.   An underwriter will contact you by e-mail within 24 hours confirming the premium

Once the quote is Finalized, you will have the option to request a financing quote. Our office will forward the finance quote directly to you.

Click on Indications & Quotes along the left hand side of your screen. Please note that Indications are only valid for 30 days (see below for further info).

If you previously “Finalized” a quote, the quote will be found by clicking on Finalized Quotes. Please note that quotes are only valid for 30 days.

**Quotes are valid for 30 days. After 30 days, the quote will be shown as Expired. At this point, the system will not accept any further changes and you should start the quote over by clicking on New Indication.
